CatalinBread BELLE EPOCH (EP3 tape echo emulation)

CatalinBread BELLE EPOCH (EP3 tape echo emulation)

SKU:ae00-13191^BELLEEPOCH
Features:

INTRODUCTION Faithful sonic recreation of the EP-3 tape echo. Yes, including the preamp. “The Catalinbread Belle Epoch is the closest thing to a real EP-3 that I’ve ever played.”– Eric Johnson THE STORY The Catalinbread Belle Epoch Tape Echo, has tape echo sounds so authentic you’d swear there was tape inside the pedal! Inspired by the Maestro Echoplex, EP-3 model, perhaps the most famous tape delay ever, the Belle Epoch features everything we love about the EP-3 in a small, maintenance free pedal format. We felt that a “tape echo” pedal was much more than just a standard digital delay with some “filtering” on the repeats. There are a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle traits of the Echoplex that needed to be implemented in order to be authentic. The preamp, the self-oscillation character, the ability to control the “record level” of the signal hitting “tape”, the wow and flutter, the way the repeats decay, the way the circuit interfaces with the amp and other pedals – all these things were important to get right. The original unit was used as a musical instrument unto itself and this is what we captured with the Belle Epoch. OVERVIEW Preamp – Famous for making your guitar sound better even when the echoes are turned off. Quality of repeats – The Echoplex was not necessarily “hi-fi”. As the echoes repeated, the signal got progressively degraded, losing low end and gaining a shiny, percussive top end with a bit of grit. The first repeat is strong and then it gets more and more diffused as it repeats. And in a well-tuned unit, you could dial in the repeats “Echo Sustain” so that it would float almost indefinitely, or cross the threshold to self-oscillation Record level – There’s a control on the EP-3 that sets how hard the tape gets hit. While this control was ostensibly used to optimize signal-to-noise ratio, set low it would give light and airy repeats and set high it would saturate the tape hard and give an awesome fat and grungy repeat tone. Wow and flutter – We designed the Belle Epoch’s modulation control to simulate the daily mechanical irregularities inherent in original Echoplex units. This would typically include bumpy capstan wheels, uneven tape tension, uneven motor speed, humidity, and actual ghosts? Head drag – The original unit had a unique quality that when moving the delay time slider it took a moment to catch up to the adjustment, creating a doppler like effect. The Belle Epoch reproduces this behavior while you turn the echo delay knob.

Catalinbread DIRTY LITTLE SECRET (Marshall in a box)

Catalinbread DIRTY LITTLE SECRET (Marshall in a box)

SKU:ae00-13192^DIRTYLITTLESEC
Features:

INTRODUCTION Classic plexi to early 70s Marshall Super Lead and Super Bass sound and response “Clearly I get to play a lot of pedals and quite frankly I was stunned when I plugged this one in. It nails that classic Marshall tone.” – Andy Proguitarshop.com THE STORY Marshall amps helped supercharge the performance, and shape the sound of rock and roll. When the house lights dimmed, all you could see through the hazy darkness was the array of red pilot lights shining from a backline wall of Marshall stacks. It was the ultimate prelude to the impending rock. In the absence of your own personal wall of Marshalls and the necessary road crew required to lug them around, the Dirty Little Secret (DLS) is the perfect secret weapon in your tone arsenal. This is your “always on” pedal, designed to be the “foundation” of your pedalboard, transforming any amplifier into those raging British stacks. It forms the core of your guitar sound which you can enhance and embellish by adding boosters, fuzzes, filters, and other overdrives in front of it – just like you would in front of a real amp. And the reason you can leave it always on is that you can get a great clean sound just by rolling back your guitar’s volume knob! That’s the way the old school Marshall players did things! OVERVIEW Two classic circuits, selectable via an internal slider switch: Super Lead– The “Super Lead” mode gives you the great rock sound of a Marshall Super Lead amp with awesome harmonics, touch sensitivity, cab thumb, and kerrang. Higher gain than the Super Bass mode, Super Lead mode is perfect for use with humbucker-equipped guitars. It’s gain range goes from classic plexi all the way to modified JCM800 levels. And, just like a great plexi, you can go from clean to scream with just a twist of your guitar’s volume knob. Like a Super Lead, it’s voice is all about thump and upper-midrange kerrang. This is THE rock sound! Super Bass– The “Super Bass” mode gives you the tone and gain structure of a Marshall Super Bass (which is very similar to a JTM45, JTM50/100, or very early plexi). This mode was voiced to really hone in on that elusive in-between “not quite clean, not quite dirty” response that old tube amps were so good at getting. And it was specifically voiced to make fuzz pedals sound great (especially two-transistor based fuzzes like the fuzz face). Plug a Strat into a Fuzz Face with the DLS in SB mode and you’ll see what we mean! It’s voice is deeper bass, and an emphasis on the lower midrange band (in contrast to the Super Lead mode’s upper midrange emphasis) and sounds especially great with Fender style guitars. Tone stack -The DLS is two pedals in one. When you switch from SL to SB mode it completely reconfigures the tone stack and key first gain stage parameters to give authentic Super Lead or Super Bass type response. The SL/SB mode switch doesn’t just add a bit more bass to make it a “super BASS”. The treble-middle-bass tone control complement exactly reproduce the tone stack circuits of the Super Lead and the Super Bass amps. So when you switch from SL to SB mode, the tone circuit gets reconfigured to the Super Bass circuit. Mode Switch – The Super Lead and Super Bass are two remarkably different amps, and so the DLS is essentially two pedals in one….not a two channel pedal. When you switch between the two modes and explore the differences in the way the pedal reacts, you’ll see what we mean. You will hear the difference in the way the tone controls work, the way the gain character feels, and the way the overall frequency response sounds.

Catalinbread FORMULA NO. 55 (Vintage Fender Tweed Amp)

Catalinbread FORMULA NO. 55 (Vintage Fender Tweed Amp)

SKU:ae00-13194^FORMULA55
Features:

INTRODUCTION Next-generation 5E3 Tweed Deluxe inspired Foundation Overdrive with incredible range – from Grant Green to Crazy Horse! OVERVIEW Turn your amp into a 100 watt tweed Deluxe! Well no, but that’s what it’ll feel like when you plug into your new Catalinbread Formula No. 55! Big and powerful, yet refined, the Formula No. 55 melts into your amp, transforming it into a wide ranging tweed monster capable of everything from smokey, clean Grant Green jazz tones all the way to full on raging Crazy Horse excursions! The old amps from the 50s were primitive beasts and the 5E3 Deluxe was no exception. Its preamp section let a lot of low frequencies through but then it would encounter an output section (power tubes, output transformer, and speaker) that couldn’t handle all that low end, often resulting in a flubby response, especially if you turned the Volume up. In fact, if you look at the manual from an old 50s tweed, it advises you to “turn down the Volume should you experience any distortion”. Of course, a lot of guitarists ignored that advice and cranked it up anyway, much to Leo’s chagrin, and the sound of rock was born. The Formula No. 55 gives you that huge low-end response but was specifically voiced for touch-sensitive dynamics and a fat, but tight and punchy sound. You can play a palm-muted boogie-woogie rhythm pattern, for example, and if you don’t bear down too hard with your picking attack you’ll get a big chunky, woody sound, the kind of sound that you’d think would flub out if you suddenly started strumming harder. But start thrashing away and the response will get tighter instead of flubbing out! You just have to try it for yourself to see! The Formula No. 55 is a Foundation Overdrive that reproduces, in exacting detail, the preamp section of the classic Fender™ tweed 5E3 Deluxe using an all-discrete JFET-based signal path. The Volume and Tone controls replicate, part for part, the circuitry of the 5E3, giving you authentic tweed amp response. The output section is designed to give you lots of punch and volume with a low output impedance to drive your amp perfectly. Set the Hi-Lo button to “Lo” for the cleaner response of a vintage tweed. “Hi” is like hot rodding your amp by swapping in higher gain tubes. Like all Catalinbread pedals, no SMD parts are used for audio circuitry. Only through-hole components selected for tone and response are used such as carbon composition resistors and premium capacitors. We hand-build them and we tone-test each one to ensure you get the best we can offer. CONTROLS: Volume: From warm fat jazz clean to thick horn-like barking overdrive. Tone: Noon for flat. Turn down for warm, smokey tones. Turn it up to boost upper mids and cut through the mix. Presence: Adjusts ~ 5khz range. Set to noon to start. Turn it up for more bite! Turn it down to warm things up. Master: Sets output level. Lots of boost on tap. Hi-Lo Button: Hi/Red: Like swapping in hotter tubes, for more gain, overdrive and attitude. Low/Green: Low gain mode from clean to overdrive

Dunlop JB95 BONAMASSA WAH-EA

Dunlop JB95 BONAMASSA WAH-EA

SKU:ae00-12945^JB95
Features:

Whether he's blazing through the blues on his own or rocking with Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa's playing is fiery, deep, and powerful. And when he really wants to express himself in a solo, he steps on a Cry Baby wah. That's why we at Dunlop worked with Joe to develop the Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby, specially engineered to fit in perfectly with Joe's system, from the way it looks to the way it sounds. On the outside, it sports a classy copper top with a smooth-finish black body. On the inside, it features large, vintage-style thru-hole components, a Halo inductor (for added harmonic content), an output buffer (to prevent impedance imbalance with vintage fuzz pedals), and a switch for true-bypass or non-true-bypass operation (Joe prefers non-True Bypass as it darkens the high end). With its huge vocal sweep range, this is one of the most expressive Cry Babys ever, and it's Joe's tool of choice to accentuate every soulful bend and bluesy wail. The first pedal I ever purchased was a Cry Baby, 25 years ago, he says. I am so honored to have my name on this pedal and hope it brings you as much fun as it brings me every night on stage.

Dunlop JC95 CANTRELL WAH-

Dunlop JC95 CANTRELL WAH-

SKU:ae00-12946^JC95
Features:

One of the most influential guitarists to come out of the Seattle rock scene, Jerry Cantrell's epic riffs and searing tone have been the driving force behind Alice in Chains since the late 80's. His melancholy wah-drenched melodies in modern classics like Man in the Box and The Rooster left an indelible mark on a generation of guitarists. Jerry favored wah-wahs with a wider, darker response, and Dunlop has painstakingly replicated that moody sound to create his signature pedal. It's custom-voiced for a tight, punchy heel-down tone and a rugged side-control knob lets you fine tune the toe-down frequency. And with its antique, oxidized road worn brass casting and custom Alice in Chains tread, this is one pedal that looks as great as it sounds.

EarthQuaker Cloven Hoof V2 Fuzz

EarthQuaker Cloven Hoof V2 Fuzz

SKU:ae00-13151^CLOVENHOOFV2
Features:

The Cloven Hoof is the Hoof’s evil twin. It looks a lot like the Hoof, only more, um . . . Cloven. We kept the tightness and clarity you loved about the Hoof, along with the wide range of fuzz sounds, and threw the rest away. NOS Germanium transistors? Nope! In their place, we installed a set of four specially selected Silicon transistors for cleaner cleans, higher gain, improved temperature stability, and a grittier, grindier, nastier fuzz tone with over 4x the gain of the original Hoof. We also replaced key resistors with NOS Carbon Comp components to sprinkle a little bit of vintage flavor into the Cloven Hoof’s searing fuzz fury. It’s like they always say, “In with the old, out with the new.” The “Tone” and “Shift” controls remain intact, only now they’re re-voiced for a smoother sweep, and more precise control over the Cloven Hoof’s beefy low-end. Speaking of low-end, have you heard this thing on bass? Wow. Try the Cloven Hoof on a bass guitar. Seriously. Trust us. You can still cut or boost the mids, and there’s still a metric ton of output on tap, just do us a favor, and for the love of all that’s Cloven, play this pedal with a bass guitar. The Cloven Hoof is the perfect solution for those of you who wish the Hoof had more low-end, higher gain, and was just a little bit Hoofier. Each and every Cloven Hoof is one-hundred percent analog, true bypass, and built by qualified cowboys, cowgirls, and rodeo clowns in the organic, grass-fed, farm-to-table cattle ranch of Akron, Ohio, USA, y’all.

Earthquaker Data Corrupter

Earthquaker Data Corrupter

SKU:ae00-13649^DATACORRUPTER
Features:

Data Corrupter™ Modulated Monophonic Harmonizing PLL Okay Brainiac, it’s time to put down that graphing calculator and get to work decoding your brand new Data Corrupter! The Data Corrupter is a monophonic analog harmonizing PLL with modulation. It takes your input signal and brutally amplifies it into a crushing square wave fuzz tone that is then multiplied, divided and modulated to create a wild, yet repeatable, three-voice guitar synthesizer. The Master Oscillator is the central nervous system at the heart of the Data Corrupter’s cyberpunk hive mind. The three-position switch on the Master Oscillator control panel labeled Root feeds your input to the Data Corrupter’s signal harvester in its original octave (Unison), one octave down (-1) or two octaves down (-2). Use the Master Oscillator’s Root switch to fine tune the Data Corrupter’s tracking response for maximum compatibility with your preferred instrument and frequency register. Once you’ve chosen your input octave, the Data Corrupter will perform its calculations and spit out a synthesized frequency, the octave and/or interval of which may be selected via the Master Oscillator’s eight-position rotary switch. The Voice Mixer’s Oscillator control adjusts the Master Oscillator blend. The Frequency Modulator applies pitch-bend modulation to the Master Oscillator. In Glide mode, you’ll hear a smooth portamento as each note slides into the next. In Vibrato mode the pitch modulates up and down for a retro sci-fi laser effect. The Subharmonic assimilates the input signal into one of eight lower octave programs between one and three octaves below the original. For a more stable lower octave, set the Subharmonic’s Root switch to the Unison position, which divides the Square Wave input signal, and removes the Frequency Modulator from the Subharmonic signal path. To unleash the cracked machine lurking within the Data Corrupter mainframe, set the Subharmonic Root switch to Oscillator and try not to look away as the sonic malware you just installed mangles your input signal into the sum and difference of both the Master Oscillator and Subharmonic with the Frequency Modulator applied to the upper and lower octaves. If you think you’re brave enough, set the Subharmonic Root switch to Oscillator and try experimenting with different Master Oscillator and Subharmonic programs to wind up the doomsday clock and inch ever closer to the Singularity. Adjust the Voice Mixer’s Subharmonic control to set the lower octave volume. Finally, (or is it?) the Square control located top-left on the Voice Mixer blends in a fuzzed-out square-wave take of your input in its original octave. That’s it. These aren’t the droids we’re looking for. Move along. Each and every Data Corrupter is built one-at-a-time by a team of ensigns aboard the Starship Enterprise locked in orbit around the Borg Cube of Akron, Ohio, USA. Make it so. Engage. List Price: $229.00 Controls Nerd Talk The heart of this pedal is based around a CMOS Phase Locked Loop (PLL) IC. In a nutshell, the PLL takes your input signal and compares its phase and frequency against an oscillator, generates an output proportional to their difference then feeds it back to the oscillator. This then causes the oscillator to lock onto the input signal and generate a synthesized frequency. Pretty cool, right? This synthesized frequency is referred to as the Master Oscillator on the Data Corrupter. Master Oscillator The Master Oscillator takes it’s input from one of three sources: Unison, one octave down and two octaves down. Some frequencies are too high for the Master Oscillator to divide, therefore, shifting them down one or two octaves brings them back into the proper range (it also happens to sound super cool). These sources are referred to as “Root” and can be selected via a three-position switch. The Root is then fed into the PLL and multiplied to create one of eight different intervals over three octaves that are selected by the rotary switch to create your harmony! This harmony can then be manipulated via the Frequency Modulator section. Frequency Modulator The Frequency Modulator has two modes, Glide and Vibrato. In Glide mode, the pitch will glide from note to note and the speed of the glide can be adjusted by the Rate control. At faster settings, this takes on a very cool phase shifting effect. In Vibrato mode, the pitch varies up and down to create a laser-like effect. The Frequency Modulator only affects the Master Oscillator, unless the Subharmonic Root switch is in the Oscillator position. Subharmonic The Subharmonic section of the Data Corrupter creates a sub octave of the Root and then divides it up into eight intervals over three octaves which are selected by the rotary switch to create your subharmonic harmony. The Root comes from one of two sources, Unison or the Master Oscillator. When Unison is selected, the Subharmonic will be a division of the square wave fuzz tone and the Frequency Modulator will have no effect. When Oscillator is selected, the Subharmonic will be a division of the Master Oscillator and the Frequency Modulator will be applied to the Subharmonic harmony. Voice Mixer and Level The Master Oscillator, Subharmonic and Square wave fuzz tone all have volume controls under the voice mixer section. Use these to blend the three voices together to taste. The Level is a master volume and determines the overall output level of the effect. Tracking This pedal should be placed close to front of your signal chain and before any delay, reverb or modulation effect. While it will work with most bridge pickups, the neck pickup will provide the best tracking results. Precise picking and single notes will track quickly and cleanly. Chords and sloppy playing will result in chaos. There is no control over the amount of gain because it really needs to be fine-tuned to properly track. Weak signals (like backing off on the guitar volume) will lead to poor tracking and gating. Design Notes This Device takes its inspiration from the Electrax Synthax and the “Basic Frequency Synthesizer” by Ray Marston. Neither of these were really intended to be guitar effect pedals and a lot of work went into creating the Data Corrupter to provide excellent tracking and long sustain. We think you’ll find it more expressive and accurate than pretty much any other PLL based effect pedal around. Measures 5.65" x 4.75? x 2.25? with knobs Power The Data Corrupter should be powered a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. Do not run at higher voltages! Current Draw 25mA Input impedance 1M Output impedance 1K Switching This device is true bypass and uses electronic relay based switching. Audio will not pass without power.

Dunes™ Mini Mega Ultimate Overdrive Way back in 2014, we did something we said we would never do. We made a Tubes Creamer. But we didn’t make just any old TS-808 clone - we made the Palisades™, the end-all, be-all of transparent mid-boosting overdrives. A Mega Ultimate Overdrive, if you will. Lurking inside that massive bedazzled enclosure was every conceivable 808 mod under the sun. And a second gain channel. And a clean boost. We did our rightful duty to you, the musician, by offering you true Freedom of Choice to mix and match clipping diodes and capacitors as you see fit in order to develop your own unique overdriven voice. And you did. All except those few spuds in the back who said to us, “But EarthQuaker Devices, we want Freedom from Choice!” And so we listened. We made a Mini Mega Ultimate Overdrive. The Dunes™ is a condensed take on our highly popular Palisades “808-style” overdrive. We’ve stripped away all the glitz and glamour of the original Palisades, leaving only the bare essentials required for a rippin’ mid-boosting transparent overdrive. It has all the great tone of the grown-up Palisades but with a simplified interface and a smaller footprint! The Dunes features the same Gain, Tone and Level controls as the Palisades, along with our favorite voice and bandwidth settings, as well as the “Normal / Bright” toggle. The selectable clipping Voices are: “MOSFET” for a tight crunchy sound (Palisades’ Setting 3); “Silicon” Asymmetrical clipping for tighter light gain OD closest to the classic 808 sound (Palisades’ Setting 4), and “None,” which goes from clean boost to gritty, pure op-amp distortion with a massive volume boost (Palisades’ Setting 1). The two Bandwidth settings are “stock” for the classic tone (Palisades’ Setting 3) and “full range” for more low end (Palisades’ Setting 5). EarthQuaker Levitation V2 Reverb

EarthQuaker Levitation V2 Reverb

SKU:ae00-13161^LEVITATIONREVEB
Features:

Introducing the Levitation reverb, a pedal designed by EarthQuaker Devices in conjunction with the LEVITATION music festival! LEVITATION, founded as Austin Psych Fest in 2008, has become a way to honor and preserve Austin’s psychedelic rock heritage, and carry it into the future. We wanted to remain true to the theme ofLEVITATION and decided to do a variation on our popular Ghost Echo pedal to honor the reverb-drenched tones synonymous with classic psych rock. The Levitation Reverb builds on the base sound found in the Ghost Echo but does away with the attack and dwell and adds control over tone, decay, atmosphere and length in their place. It is a vintage voiced reverb that aims to fit somewhere between dirty sixties chambers, classic spring, and the big, ringing plate reverbs of days gone by. Four knobs and one switch control quite a bit more than you’d expect. Want a slap back small room sound? Set all of your controls to the minimum and use the mix to dial in the sound of room devoid of anything but a guitar and amp. Want to revel in infinite spatial oscillations? Flip the toggle to long, turn up the atmosphere and decay then tune out. Dial in a bright chiming slap back by turning the tone all the way counter clockwise and reducing the decay. For a rattling, full-bandwidth assault, dime everything and let ‘er rip. Each Levitation Reverb is built entirely by hand in Akron, Ohio by EarthQuaker Devices.

earthquaker pedal delay reverb

SKU:ae00-13652^DISPATCHMASTER
Features:

Dispatch Master™ Digital Delay & Reverb The Dispatch Master is one of our favorite devices at EQD, and remains our top-seller to this day. Pick one up, and you’ll know why. Crystalline digital delays up to 1.5 seconds without nasty self-oscillation. Luscious reverbs that seem to last forever, like a collect call from beyond the fourth dimension. Ethereal ambient soundscapes that drift off into outer space like a psychedelic shooting star. Over ten thousand pickers, grinners, heshers, singers, shredders, ivory ticklers, trumpeters, bassists, and synthesists use the Dispatch Master to make and receive music in all genres - anything from thick swatches of reverb and delay, to a quick chicken-pickin’ slapback, or even just to add a little bit of room sound to a signal that’s a tad dry. The delay signal is clear and strong, with no gross digital artifacts or tonal degradation. The reverb is massive and cavernous. With a twist of the “Mix” knob, you’ll hear everything from subtle ambient spaces, making the Dispatch Master a useful “always on” pedal; to cavernous reflections and echoes with near-infinite repeats. The Dispatch Master is designed to be a little more hi-fi than the Ghost Echo or Levitation, for those players looking for clean, articulate time-based effects in a versatile yet still compact footprint. The Delay and Reverb effects may be used separately or in tandem. You just have to answer the call. The Dispatch Master is true bypass, and built one at a time by retired telephone switchboard operators in Akron, Ohio, USA, the Clark Kent of the Midwest. The Dispatch Master uses silent relay-based soft touch switching. Audio will not pass without power. List Price: $199.00 Controls Time: Sets the delay time, from 0ms to 1.5 seconds. Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delayed signal. Also acts as a enhancer for the reverb. In reverb mode this will control the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb. Reverb: Clockwise for more reverb, counterclockwise for less. Mix: Adjusts the over all level of the effected signal. To use as a reverb only, turn the time control all the way down and adjust the reverb and mix controls to taste. In this mode, the repeats control can be used to enhance the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb. With the reverb control at its maximum setting, the repeats control will gradually overload the effect at higher settings. To use as a delay only, turn the reverb control all the way down and adjust the time, repeats and mix controls to taste. To use both effects in unison, adjust all controls to taste. True bypass and hand made one at a time in landlocked Akron, Ohio. Measures 4.75? x 2.50? x. 2.25? with knobs Power Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. Current draw is 60 mA.

Erupter™ Ultimate Fuzz Tone Can we ask you a serious question? When’s the last time you turned up your favorite fuzz pedal to anything but eleven? If there’s one true thing about rock n’ roll, it’s that it sounds best cranked all the way up. But where do we go from here? We go one louder. Enter the Erupter. The Erupter is the result of over two years’ worth of tone-chasing, tweaking, and experimentation in search of the ultimate classic fuzz tone with a big low end (but not too mushy), a biting top end without being too harsh, and just enough output to politely send a tube amp over the top. We used every trick in the book to craft a classic fuzz Device that sounds good with any pickup type, anywhere in the chain (even before a wah pedal!) without any tone-sucking impedance mismatching. We build each Erupter with a buffered input section, transformer-based pickup simulation, new production 5% ½ watt carbon composition resistors, metallized polyester film capacitors, Sprague and BC electrolytic capacitors, and low-gain, hand-matched NOS silicon transistors to deliver a well-rounded and defined fuzz tone with just enough pummeling intensity, so you can rock n’ roll all night and still get to bed at a reasonable hour. The Erupter’s simple control set stands in stark relief of its rigorous design process, and believe us, we tried everything. Adding controls, removing controls, measuring resistors, swapping transistors, trying different capacitor values, rolling dice, throwing darts at transformer spec sheets on the wall… Heck, we would have done William Burroughs-style circuit board cut-ups if we thought it would’ve worked. If it’s good enough for the Stones, it’s gotta be good enough for us, right? Anywho, what we finally landed on is a super-simple single knob setup that allows you to bias the Erupter’s NOS silicon transistors for the perfect sound and feel, while still being touch responsive and cleaning up nicely when you roll back the guitar’s volume and tone controls. Low “Bias” settings yield a rude, spongy fuzz tone with plenty of sag and a blossoming attack envelope that’s gated without entering “dying battery” territory. As the “Bias” control is increased, additional harmonics stack atop the input signal, producing a stiffer, more complex fuzz tone with a tighter response, increased output, and longer sustain. We had a custom center-detent pot made to fit the required resistance for the Erupter. When the Bias control is set at noon you will feel a little click. That means the pedal is perfectly biased to give the best possible fuzz tone. The Erupter uses a fixed master output level and gain setting for the thickest fuzz possible and to push the full frequency range of the guitar out front when you kick it on. And we do hope you’ll kick it on often. Each and every Erupter is built by the hands of real-life dream warriors in the foothills of Mt. Akron, Ohio. List Price: $149.00 Controls Bias: This control has a center detent for the "perfect" fuzz setting. When in the center position, the tone will be big and round with a slight volume boost and great sustain. As you turn this counter clockwise it becomes more gated with lower output. As you turn this clockwise it becomes louder and more refined. Measures 4.75? x 2.50? x. 2.25? with knob Power The Erupter can be powered by a 9v battery or a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1 mm negative center barrel. Current draw is 15 mA. Input impedance 500K Output impedance >1K Switching This device is true bypass and uses electronic relay based switching. Audio will not pass without power.

earthquaker sea machine chorus pedal

earthquaker sea machine chorus pedal

SKU:ae00-13657^SEAMACHINE
Features:

Sea Machine™ Super Chorus The Sea Machine is a chorus pedal with as many modulation possibilities as there are fish in the ocean. That’s a lot of fish. And a lot of modulation. From subtle, shimmery chorus sounds, to wobbly, seasick, warbly pitch-bent detuning that rocks the boat, the Sea Machine is the audio bait that’ll help you reel in the big one. The Sea Machine ain’t no one-trick seahorse. A variable waveshape LFO (adjustable via the Shape control) modulates your chorus tone from a smooth triangle shape, to a rough and choppy square wave, and an extended delay line allows you to dive deeper into uncharted modulated waters than ever before. Other LFO controls include Rate, which sets the speed of the LFO, and Depth, which sets how strongly the LFO modulates the delay time. The delay line has controls for Dimension, Animate, and Depth. The Dimension control adds a slightly detuned slapback at low levels, reverb-like ambience at mid-levels, and a trippy echo-resonance that leads to self-oscillation when cranked. The Animate control is the real pearl in the Sea Machine’s oyster, if you will. This controls how far the pitch swings. At lower settings, you’ll hear slight detuning for a subtle double-tracked thickening effect, á la traditional chorus pedals. As you increase the Animate control, the pitch swings further and further away from the root note for an effect that lies somewhere between chorus and vibrato, before landing at full tilt on sonar-like oscillations that sound more like a giant monster-movie beast awaking from its undersea slumber than any effects pedal we’ve ever heard. Finally, the Intensity control rounds out the delay line, adjusting the blend between the modulated and dry signals. With this mix of standard and unique controls, everything from subtle warble, classic Leslie, seasick pitch bends, strangled alien sounds, stunted arpeggiations and many more far out sounds are available. Or you could just use it as a chorus. That works, too. Oh, and if you’re a bass player who fancies themselves a fan of the classic 80s post-punk bass sound, the Sea Machine is pretty much just like (tone) heaven. We’ve designed the Sea Machine to work well following fuzz / overdrive / distortion pedals without getting muddy, lowering in output, or breaking up, because we like running distortion pedals into things. Also, when engaged, the Sea Machine’s transparent buffer leaves the all-analog dry signal unaltered and crystal clear. The Sea Machine is true-bypass, uses silent relay-based switching, and is built one at a time in the belly of the great white whale along the shores of the Ohio & Erie Canal in Akron, Ohio, USA. V3 UPDATES - JUNE 2017: Improved circuitry for better performance, cleaner sound, and lower noise More range added to almost every control from subtle modulation to extreme oscillation Silent relay-based switching List Price: $199.00 Controls Rate: Sets the speed of the LFO. The miniature LED will show the tempo even in bypass mode. Shape: From soft triangle through hard square wave. Dimension: Adds a slight slap-back at low levels, reverb-like ambiance at mid levels and an echo-resonance at max. Depth: How much the LFO modulates the delay time. Animate: How far the pitch shifted signal swings, lower levels equals a tighter and more focused shift à la traditional chorus. As you increase the control a more wild and animated pitch shift begins to emerge. Intensity: How much modulated signal is blended in with the dry signal. Measures 4.75? x 2.50? x. 2.25? with knobs Power Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. Do not run at higher voltages! Current draw is 50 mA.

earthquaker trem pedal

earthquaker trem pedal

SKU:ae00-13655^HUMMINGBIRDV3
Features:

Hummingbird™ Repeat Percussions Welcome to your new Hummingbird Repeat Percussion tremolo! The Hummingbird is a choppy, sawtooth tremolo modeled on the vintage “repeat percussion” unit and similar to those found in old Valco and Vox amplifiers. It is capable of producing everything from classic “50’s style” shimmering tremolo to a synthy, delay-like chop that turns your signal into a burst of short pings and on through to near ring modulation speeds. Simply choosing between modes 1 (slow), 2 (mid-tempo) or 3 (fast) and adjusting the rate and depth controls will unlock a whole new world of amplitude modulation at your feet. The Rate is also expression pedal accessible to allow instant changes on the fly. Using an expression pedal opens up the possibility of true random amplitude modulation! In addition to the modulation, the Hummingbird has plenty of clean gain on-tap allowing you to either boost or cut the signal using the level control. If the Depth is turned to zero, the Hummingbird will become a JFET clean boost! The Hummingbird is all analog, true bypass and handmade one at a time on a gilded cloud in Akron, Ohio. List Price: $155.00 Controls Depth: Controls amount of modulation from barely there to full signal chop at full bore. Rate: Controls the speed of the LFO. Clockwise for faster, counterclockwise for slower. Level: Controls the signal input level which ultimately controls the output level. Clockwise for more, counterclockwise for less. Mode: Three way toggle switch which selects the range of the oscillator. Mode 1 is slow, mode 2 is mid tempo and mode 3 is fast. Expression Jack: Use an expression pedal to adjust the rate with your foot! When an expression pedal is in use the Rate control is defeated. We recommend the Moog EP-2 expression pedal. Measures 4.75? x 2.50? x. 2.25? with knobs Power Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. Current draw is 10 mA.
